Little Falls fire Dept. was dispatched to R-23 for a confirmed structure fire in a 2.5 story wood frame upon arrival the FD was met with heavy fire conditions on the 1st floor and porch area. Crews made a aggressive attack and worked there way into the house. A MOS was injured when the porch roof collapsed MOS was transported with a leg injury of some sort that I was told about on scene. ( UNKNOWN HOW TRUE) the time I got there it appeared the bulk of fire was KD at the time crews were inside hitting hot spots and opening up. Smoke started pushing from the attic area on the A-B side of the structure Truck crews breached through a boarded up window frame to gain access to the attic. Command gave the order to everyone to back out of the structure. 2 ladder pipes & master streams were put to work Fire broke through the roof on the D side of the structure . Companies went exterior attack and the fire was PWH a short time afterwards. Mutual Aid from Wayne , West Paterson , Cedar Grove on scene along with multiple EMS units . Everyone did a hell of a good job that day on bringing the fire under control.
