Shortly before 9am Garfield FD was dispatched for multiple calls reporting a Structure fire on the 100 block of Jewell St. Chief reported he had smoke in the area and transmit a 2nd alarm . Fire through the roof on arrival. GFD made a grab of a handicap person .3rd alarm transmitted due to heavy fire and went defence of. Fire was in two 2 story mixed occupied structures. Both building had significant damage and collapse of both structures. One FF was transported with a leg or foot inj. Mutual aid from Saddle Brook , Elmwood Park , Wallington , Rochelle Park , Teaneck Box 54 on scene along with EMS. A demo company came in tonight and tore down both structures while GFD was on scene hitting flare ups. The photos posted here were from roughly 9:15 am to 12 Noon.
